I don’t always like putting together strips like these. Strips that quickly tell background information and such. They feel a little strained with a joke tacked on at the end to keep it humourous to some level. Sometimes they need to be there though to fill the story in and get to the end. Like today’s.

On the other hand though, I now know a bit more about the Soldier’s background and why his family came to this area and so forth. If it ever becomes important to knowing the Soldier, it might get dropped into the strip at a later date. For now though, it’s staying with me.
