G’day.
I’m asking whether the comic is loading slowly for anyone else out there. Currently it seems to be taking far too long on my end to load up. I don’t mind under 10 seconds, although under 5 would be better, but I’m getting up to a minute load times this afternoon and that’s just ridiculous. My apologies if it’s taking a while, but I thought those issues were behind us now since the new site redevelopment.
If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them. I’m at a loss at the moment!
Cheers.
I hadn’t noticed before, because I generally open a bunch of comics from my RSS feeds at the same time, but when I use the calendar widget, it takes 25-30 seconds to go to another page (and churns for about the same amount of time after that), and then all I get is “1 result” and a title to click on, then it’s another 25-30 seconds before I see the actual strip. It would be nice if at least the calendar took one straiaght to the requested strip.
Yeah, not too sure what’s going on there. I’d suggest using the archive option and finding the storyline names to go to the start of each arc. I’m not sure why it’s taking so long, and the server monkey seems to be out of contact at the moment. 🙁
It seems to go in bursts on my end, although to be fair, I am here in the States so I don’t know what effect the distance aspect might have. Sometimes it seems to load more quickly, others it seems like it takes a lot longer.
It does seem to take quite a while for pages in School Spirit to load, compared to other webcomic sites. Five to ten seconds is about average for me. I’ve been experiencing this slow loading for quite some time, since way before the site makeover. I’d chalked it down to the comic possibly being hosted on a slow and/or crowded server (servers can host multiple websites). The other alternative is that there is something on your website (perhaps a script) which is slow to complete and so delays loading of the pages.
