Who else here has written something on some poor, unsuspecting mate’s back in sunscreen? And who’s had it done to them?
Another quick mention of the ‘School Spirit Blog’ linked up in the menu above the strip. Something about indoor cricket and the young kid I bat with today.
Also… the word ‘nana’ if you’re wondering, is an abbreviation of ‘banana’. If you do your ‘nana’ (pronounced ‘nahnah’), then you’ve become seriously angry at someone or something. I have no idea why getting angry means you’re doing your banana, but there you go! You’ve learned another piece of the Australian language of colourful colloquialisms!
Other possible phrases could be ‘do your nut’, ‘go off your chops’ or ‘drop your bundle’ amongst others.
So, what phrases do you lot use when someone gets seriously angry at something?
“He’s completely lost it.”
Heheh. We use that on occasion too. Another that came to mind was to ‘do your block’.
“He’s gone off his rocker.”
Ah! Off his rocker! Of course!
How about ‘gone off like a frog in a sock!’ ? :)
