What force could possibly come between two mates, eh?
From today until this new storyline concludes at #1100, School Spirit will update daily to fit it in before the End Of Year Series begins. That means seven days a week for almost three weeks. So come back regularly, okay? And pass the site on to anyone you think may be interested – I put up announcements on five forums last weekend and at last count received one reply, and that by one of you lot who read it all the time anyway! I must be selling it wrong, eh?
Speaking of the End Of Year Series, there’s still time to contribute any comments about the strip for the End Of Year Report Strip – just send something our way through the comments system if you wish. So… until tomorrow when there’ll be another update for you.
Cheers.

Of course, there’s always the issue that North of the Equator, your Mate is your Spouse, not your friend :D ;)
Aw… such a regular, scientific and boring definition for ‘mate’ you have up there. It means so much more down here. Your friends will bail you out of jail, but your mate will be sitting in the cell alongside you. :)
We have the same thing here, Mr V, so I take friendly issue with your definition of “regular, scientific and boring.” We would call them a “buddy,” a “pal” or a “damned good friend.”
We just don’t use the term “mate” the same way you do. A rose by any other name, says I. :-D
Yeah, they’d be your American renditions. I wonder though if either of us would fully appreciate the underlying meaning of each other’s terms? :)
Probably not, and to me that’s the beauty of life. We say the same thing, but different ways. :-D
