Okay, so I took a little pot shot at myself in this one, too.
It’s fun to do every now and then, and I’m pretty sure the kids are semi-consciously aware that there’s a greater power directing their lives in some way.
Well, okay, not a greater power… just me.

On more than one occasion they appeared to be looking out of the panel, especially when saying something like “Is that supposed to be funny?” with the whole Casper and Wendy thing. Fos did it too, as I recall, when he told us we could just bugger off, too.

Just a few examples of them breaking the fourth wall, so to speak :) Far too many to list out as I discovered from just a quick browse of old comics.
I don’t care what the general consensus is in the webcomic world. I like it when characters involve the audience in little ways like that. Lets everyone know that this isn’t a serious endeavour and just for a bit of fun. :)
And yes, there are probably more, but you’ve pretty well covered the ‘fourth wall’ cracks we’ve used.
I agree 100% on that score, Mr. V. Too many people make webcomics into something that’s almost life and death, it seems.
You saying School Spirit isn’t life and death?? We’ve got characters on both side of that particular bench! :P
