I don’t know how it works in Suburbia, but at least out here, Santa often makes an annual appearance before he pulls his Festive All-Nighter on the back of the local CFA firetruck. The kids chase it down the street till it stops in the middle and wait for him to throw lollies and stuff for them. Then, siren blazing just because, off he goes again on to the next street or road where more of the local rural kids are waiting.

In our community down here he’s usually accompanied by the CFA (Country Fire Authority) mascot, a bloke dressed up in a koala suit wearing a CFA uniform.

The fact that Santa looks a lot like your mate’s Uncle Trev doesn’t usually spoil the magic.
